I recently considered becoming a manufacturer's rep and asked my friend and neighbor
Joe if he could help me. I've known Joe for over 15 years, and all that time he has been a rep. It
always looked as if Joe was "doing OK" and had an amount of freedom and apparent security I never
had while previously working for someone as a sales rep.
Joe told me he would be happy to, and would find me some resources on the Internet. A couple of days

This book turned out to be "the something". I read it, and it just made sense, and I started to follow
the advice. Now I do have my own firm and a nice "stable" of lines in my chosen field, the construction
and architectural products industry. And I'm "doing all right" myself. It didn't take any longer to get
started here than it would have if I'd gone to find a job and work for somebody else, and I'm my own
boss. The future is up to me, not what someone thinks of me, or thinks where I should be working. Or
when.
I can't recommend this book highly enough to anyone who has even had a whimper of a thought about being
a rep... It's solid help and advice.
